Chinese Beef Pie

(Last Updated on December 1, 2023 by Amiee)

Delicious and juicy beef pie belongs to Muslim food that can be seen everywhere in China. Many halal restaurants in my hometown only sell beef pie and offal soup. I’m a frequent eater at these restaurants, so the deliciousness of the beef pies lingers in my memory.

When I think about these delicacies, I want to replicate them at home to satisfy my taste buds.

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour
  • water

The above two ingredients are used to make a dough. Different flours may have different water absorption, adjust the amount of water as needed.

  • Minced beef
  • Onion, chopped.
  • Salt
  • Pepper powder, usually I use ground Sichuan peppercorns.
  • Light soy sauce
  • Dark soy sauce
  • Oil,  Chinese commonly used cooking oil, such as sunflower seed oil, corn oil, soybean oil, peanut oil, and so on. You can of course use olive oil. when I make the fillings, I add some oil to make them more moist.

The above ingredients are used to make beef fillings.
