Chinese Chow Mei Fun

Chow Mei fun is a  street food everywhere in Guangdong. It is a very simple and fast one-person meal. Although it is ordinary, there is nothing to replace its position in the hearts of Cantonese people.In the Chow Mei Fun, three kinds of ingredients are essential, egg, green onions chopped and green bean sprouts.

If you cook this dish at home,meat, seafood or other ingredients can be added as you like.  Chow mei fun on the street will be more delicious, because the fire power is stronger than at home.

Ingredients

  • 200 gram nice noodles, soak them with lukewarm water or just boiling water
  • One egg , beaten fully
  • 50 gram lean pork meat, cut into thin strips (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon shaoxing wine
  • 1 teaspoon five spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 200 gram green bean sprouts
  • 2 green onion, chopped
  • 3 teaspoon oil
  • 3 tablespoon light soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Soak rice noodles with 80 degree lukewarm water for 5 mintues, drained.
  2. Add oil to the wok, heat wok over high heat, add pork firstly, stir-frying for a while, untill cooked through, then add egg liquid, stir frying for half minute, then add rice noodles, green bean sprouts, stir-frying frequently, add light soy sauce, five spice powder, shaoxing wine, stirrig until cooked through.
  3. Add salt and chopped green onion, cook, stirring untill mixed well before turned off the fire.
  4. Serve immediately.
