Pork Bone Soup with Overlord Flower ( 霸王花猪骨汤) – Traditional Cantonese Old Fire Soup

For Cantonese people, drinking soup is as common and indispensable as breathing.

Different soups have different effects, and they are important means of replenishing energy for the body and providing daily health care.

Today’s recipe is pork bone soup with overload flour. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, overload flour has the effect of clearing away heat, moistening the lungs and relieving cough.

Pork bone has the effect of stressing the spleen and tonifying deficiency.

INGREDIENTS

  • Overlord flowers, 25 g
  • Pork bones, 190 m
  • One peeled carrot, 150 g,
  • Salt, 1/2 tsp
  • Water, 1200 ml 

Instructions

1. Soak the overlord flowers in water to soften

2. Cut the carrot into pieces

3. Blanch the pork bones

4. Put blanched pork bones, carrot pieces, soaked overlord flowers into a soup pot, cook for one hour and a half.

5. Turn off the heat, then add 1/2 tsp salt.
