Wonton is one of the traditional Chinese pasta dishes with a long history, and its origin can be traced back to the Qin and Han Dynasties more than 2,000 years ago.

Wontons have different names and preparation methods in different regions of China. For example, in the northern region, people are accustomed to calling it “wonton”; in the southern Guangdong and Fujian regions, they call it “flat food” or “flat meat”.

Wontons in a spicy and sour soup base are a particularly popular dish. Today’s main recipe is this spicy and sour wonton soup.

  • - The fillings for wonton
  • Lean pork, 8 oz,
  • Ginger, 1/5 oz
  • Scallion, 1/2 oz
  • Oil, 1 tbsp
  • Salt, 1/2 tsp
  • Cooking wine, 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder, 1/2 tsp
  • Water, 1 tbsp
  • --The spicy and sour soup
  • Ligjt soy sauce, 1 tsp
  • Spicy chili sauce(or Laoganma chili oil), 1 tbsp
  • Sesame oil, 1/2 tsp
  • Sugar, 1/4 tsp
  • Vinegar, 1 tsp
  • Water (can also use chicken broth instead), 5 tbsp
  • Coriander, one, chopped
  • - Stir-fried baby bok choy
  • Baby bok choy, 200 g, cut into sections
  • Garlic, 3 cloves, chopped
  • Oil, 1 tsp
  • Salt, 1/8 tsp


  • Cut the lean pork into pieces.
  • Add pork, ginger and scallion to a blender, chop them.
  • Season the minced pork with oil, light soy sauce, salt, cooking wine, pepper powder, water, mix well.
  • Wrap wontons.
  • Make spicy and sour soup with light soy sauce, spicy chili sauce, sesame oil, sugar, vinegar and water.
  • Boil the wontons until cooked through.
  • Chop the coriander.
  • Transfer the cooked wontons to the bowl with sour and spicy soup, top with coriander cho0ped
  • Chop the garlic with a small food processor, wash and cut the baby bok choy. 9
  • Add oil the wok, then add garlic, stir-fry for a while, then add the baby bok choy, stir-fry until they turn green, add salt, about 1 minute.
  • The meal is ready.
