Chinese Yam with Date Paste Cake

  • The steps for date paste:
  • Chinese Red dates about 100 gram (remove the stones)
  • 2 Chinese yam  about 150 gram(peeled), cut into sections
  • 3 tablespoon flour


  • The steps for date paste:
  • Cut each date with scissor, remove the stones, and wash them.
  • Steaming them for 20 minutes with steamer.
  • Add them to breaker, add some water, beat them into mud.
  • Add the mud to a pot, heat over medium-low heat while stirring, add oil several times,  until the water is evaporated.
  • Add flour to jujube mud, easy to shape
  • Make red date paste into balls
  • The steps for Chinese yam with red date cake
  • Steaming Chinese yam  for about 10 minutes
  • Mashed into mud
  • Make mud into balls,  press every ball into wrapper, put red date ball on wrapper, let the yam skin wrap the red date ball
  • Put it into mold, shape.
  • Serve
